After completing the INDEX26 itinerary, on May 21-23, Li Lingshen, the vice president of the China Textile Industry Federation, led an industry representative delegation for the non-woven fabric sector to Finland for exchanges. They visited the Finnish Textile and Fashion Industry Association and several enterprises, and also paid a visit to the Commercial Affairs Office of the Chinese Embassy in Finland to learn about the advanced achievements and experiences of the Finnish textile industry in areas such as technological innovation, green development, digital transformation, and industry services. They also introduced the development achievements of the Chinese textile industry and discussed cooperation opportunities between the Chinese and Finnish textile industries.
Ms. Marja-Liisa Permikangas, the general manager of the Finnish Textile & Fashion Industry Association, received the delegation. Marja-Liisa introduced the basic situation of the Finnish textile and fashion industry and the services provided by the association. The Finnish Textile Association has 255 members and 42 cross-industry cooperation units. Members cover various sub-sectors such as clothing accessories, technical textiles, home textiles, fibers, dyeing, protective workwear, and sportswear, among which textiles and clothing account for 46%, and industrial textiles account for 23%. The core services of the association are policy lobbying, labor negotiations, EU standard alignment, providing legal regulations, intellectual property rights consultation, conducting talent training, industry training, international cooperation, and policy advocacy. At the same time, it participates in relevant decisions and discussions on the business environment, organizes members to participate in textile industry legislation and policy suggestions, and actively provides services for members in promoting biobased fibers, circular economy, and other sustainable and innovative aspects. Both sides also had a heated discussion on topics of interest such as carbon neutrality services, labor collective agreements, intelligent fibers, digital transformation, and textile professional talent training.
